Burning is a Status Condition that does Damage Over Time. The duration of this condition can be shortened with the repeated use of Dodge Roll. Important safety tip: Burning will make you die, so don't just stand there like you usually do—stop, drop, and Dodge Roll.

Overview
Burning not only does Damage Over Time to creatures, but it also causes them to panic. Why you are running around down there, actively attempting to burn creatures, is beyond me. I recommend you seek out the Starseeker's Caretaker AI for immediate assistance. You are not alone.
The Wet condition can both prevent and cancel the Burning condition.
