A safe containing EXO property located in buried wreckage. To reach the EXO Vault, excavate the wreckage and then find all the terminals within the time limit and use them to unlock the Inner Door Controls leading to the EXO Vault.
Overview
EXO's rules for wreckage recovery clearly state that large-scale wreckage belongs to the ship that discovered the site, but small-scale items within the wreckage belong to the individuals who find them. Thus, whatever you scavenge from an EXO Vault belongs to you and your Squad and does not need to be handed over to the supply officers.
There's an infamous crew of Astroneers who started their careers as a wreckage recovery crew and got so good at it, they eventually broke away from EXO and became Space Pirates. Despite their humble beginnings, the so-called "Dark Stars" have been terrorizing the Universe ever since, to the point that some crews leave offerings to their warship "The Karnage." Superstitious nonsense if you ask me, but consider leaving them a scrap or two just in case...
