Life Fruit replenishes a small amount of Health to both Astroneers and creatures. I imagine discovering a new type of fruit with healing properties might earn the Starseeker crew some sort of commendation or award should we survive this whole ordeal. That's a thing to look forward to at least.
Overview
Scouting teams are reporting Life Fruit can be used as bait. While less potent than Bait Canisters, it makes a good field alternative if you're in a pinch.
When carried back to the Starseeker in your Inventory, Life Fruit converts to Wilted Life Fruit. Isn't that strange! Perhaps it has something to do with the atmospheric change or our technology? Anyway, I'm sure you'll find a use for the wilted variety if you think on it a while. The key word here being think.
