Pit Petals are hazardous flora that create water pits when disturbed. This unique defense mechanism involves instantly expelling water stores via their root system to destabilize nearby ground, thus trapping anything that threatens the plant within water-filled pits.
Overview
Make no mistake about Pit Petals. This nasty little thing is a true predator. Once prey is trapped in the muddy sinkholes this plant creates, it proceeds to feed on the drowned carcasses of its victims. I say this because you're likely to become one of those victims. The number of you that just touch whatever alien plants you come across without thinking astounds me.
Pit Petals are flowering plants and can be identified and avoided by observant Astroneers. Which is an oxymoron, if you think about it.
